How to Conduct a Realistic Anti-Drone System Field Test
To accurately evaluate the real-world effectiveness of an anti-drone system, it is essential to conduct tests under conditions that closely simulate actual operational scenarios. Below is a simplified field-testing procedure designed to provide reliable verification of system performance:
1. Ensure Correct Antenna Setup
Keep all antennas vertical and confirm that all connections are secure to maintain optimal signal transmission.
2. Elevate the Jammer Position
Mount the jammer at the highest available point in the surrounding area—such as on the rooftop of a building—to maximize coverage. Elevation is critical for ensuring an unobstructed signal path and effective jamming radius.
3. Simulate Realistic Intrusion Scenarios
During testing, the drone operator and remote control should be positioned at a distance from the jammer location. This setup replicates an actual intrusion attempt where the drone enters the protected airspace from outside the secured area.
- Photo demonstration of the test setup is recommended to document operator and drone positioning relative to the jammer.
- Activate the jammer to establish a 360° protection zone with an effective radius of 500–1000 meters.
4. Set Appropriate Drone Altitude
The drone should be flown to an altitude of approximately 100 meters to realistically simulate the flight height often used in actual overflight or surveillance activities. This step is essential for evaluating the jammer’s vertical and horizontal coverage.
