Introduction to the Operation of Signal Jammers

Mobile phone signal jammers are primarily used in venues where mobile phone communication must be restricted or prohibited. Common application sites include examination halls, schools, gas stations, churches, courtrooms, libraries, conference centers, theaters, hospitals, government buildings, financial institutions, prisons, public security facilities, and military installations.

Technical Overview

Commercially available mobile phone jammers are capable of suppressing mobile signals within a radius of >20 meters from the device, with an adjustable effective range. These devices are designed to target only cellular communications without interfering with other electronic equipment. Power-efficient models are available, with typical power consumption ranging from 20W to 480W.

How It Works

When a mobile phone is in operation, it communicates with a base station via radio waves within specific frequency bands, using defined baud rates and modulation schemes to transmit voice and data. A signal jammer disrupts this communication by sweeping rapidly across the target frequency spectrum—from the lower to the upper end of the designated bands. This interference prevents mobile devices from establishing or maintaining a stable connection to the network, causing them to display indicators such as "searching for network," "no signal," or "no service."

Typical Specifications

Common signal jammers on the market operate within the following frequency ranges:

- 869–894 MHz

- 825–960 MHz

- 1805–1880 MHz

- 1900–1990 MHz

These cover standard communication bands such as CDMA800, GSM900, DCS1800, PCS1900, and WCDMA. A typical unit can control an area of approximately 40 meters in diameter and is powered via a DC-DC converter with a 5V output.

Key Features

1. Soft Start Function

After power is applied, the jammer’s operating voltage ramps up gradually from zero to its stable level within approximately 4 seconds.

2. Effective Shielding

Within about 35 seconds of activation, all mobile phones inside the effective range will be blocked from transmitting or receiving signals.
